AP Employees Paternity Leave – Rules, GOs & Proceedings
Eligibility & Conditions
- Applicable to all married male employees of AP State Government.
- Employee must have less than two surviving children.
- Total leave period: 15 continuous days.
- Leave can be availed 15 days before delivery or within 6 months after delivery.
- Salary during leave is equal to Earned Leave salary.

Important Clarifications
- Paternity Leave can be combined with Earned Leave or Half Pay Leave.
- Combination with Casual Leave is not permitted.
- Public holidays and Sundays can be prefixed or suffixed.
- Leave must be recorded separately in the Service Register (SR).
Paternity Leave Proceedings – Application Process
- Submit leave application to the DDO / Head of Office.
- Attach Medical Certificate / Discharge Summary of spouse.
- If applying later, Birth Certificate of the child is required.
- Leave sanction proceedings will be issued officially.
- Ensure proper SR entry by the establishment section.

G.O.Ms.No.231 (16-09-2005) ప్రకారం:
వివాహిత పురుష ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగులకు (శాశ్వత / తాత్కాలిక) పూర్తి జీతంతో 15 రోజుల పితృత్వ సెలవులు మంజూరు చేయవచ్చని ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేయబడ్డాయి.
- ఈ సదుపాయం రెండు కన్నా తక్కువ జీవించి ఉన్న పిల్లలు ఉన్న ఉద్యోగులకు మాత్రమే వర్తిస్తుంది.
- అధికారిక అనుమతితో పితృత్వ సెలవులు మంజూరు చేయాలి.

General Administration Department (GAD) ద్వారా పితృత్వ సెలవులను Earned Leave (EL) తో కలిపి మంజూరు చేయవచ్చా అనే అంశంపై ప్రభుత్వానికి స్పష్టత కోరబడింది.

- అయితే, Casual Leave (CL) మరియు Optional Holidays తో కలపరాదు
