Until now, changing important details like name or date of birth required visiting an Aadhaar center. But from November 1, the following demographic details can be updated completely online through the 'myAadhaar' portal:
- Name
- Address
- Date of Birth
- Mobile Number
How it works?
This new online process is linked with other government databases (like PAN card, passport, ration card). When you request to change your details, the system automatically verifies your information from these databases. This makes the document upload process much easier.

Despite the option for online demographic changes, you must still visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra for biometric updates:
- Photograph
- Fingerprints
- Iris Scan
There is no online facility available for updating these biometric details.

UIDAI has also revised the fees for Aadhaar update services. The new fee structure is as follows:

Important Exception (Free Service):
The "Document Update" service, which allows you to upload your Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents without changing any details in your Aadhaar information (name, address, etc.), remains completely free online until June 14, 2026. UIDAI recommends that those who haven't updated their Aadhaar for 10 years should use this service.

While this is not a new rule from November 1, it is an extremely important and immediate action item.
Aadhaar-PAN Linking Final Date: December 31, 2025
Consequence: If you do not link your PAN card with Aadhaar by this deadline, your PAN card will be deactivated from January 1, 2026. This will have a severe impact on all types of banking and financial transactions.
