Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the
aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, has been
in the forefront to create mass awareness towards conservation of petroleum
products, promoting fuel-efficient equipment and helping the government by
proposing policies and strategies for petroleum conservation.
In August 2016, under the able guidance of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of
State (I/C), MOP & NG, an all India Essay & Painting competition was
conducted by PCRA attracting massive participation. Addressing the objective of
inculcating a sense of responsibility in young minds, winners were awarded
attractive prizes along with a study tour of Japan, to learn about the
advancements and efforts made towards petroleum conservation and energy
efficiency in developed countries.
Essay, Quiz and Painting competitions for 2017 have been rolled out. This is a golden opportunity for millions of young, budding students to test their calibre & bag coveted certificates, prizes and an all-expenses paid educational foreign trip to a foreign country. The schools and students may keep themselves updated by visiting www.pcra.org regularly for conservation tips and methods.
- Only schools in India recognized by Central & State Boards of India, can participate.
- It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the competition during school hours in a fair manner (Principal’s certificate is mandatory for Essay & Painting Competitions).
- Schools should try to hold the competition as early as possible to avoid last minute rush in submission.
- On registration, the school will be issued a unique userID and password as displayed in the screen. The school should retain its password in safe custody, for use, as and when the school needs to access the portal. Entries put in from school ID will be treated as final, and deemed to be input in a fair manner.

REGISTRATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Any child can participate.
- This competition shall be conducted only online through this web portal www.pcracompetitions.org and mobile applicationPCRA-Competitions available on Android/Windows/IOS Platform.
- Child to register online and upload scan copy or photo of I-card of school / certificate of Principal / Aadhar Card / Class 10th Certificate. An activation link will be sent to his/her email ID for participation.
- Eligibility: Students of age 13-17 years (students born on or after 01.04.2000 and on or before 31.03.2004).
- Questions shall pertain to Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, Energy & Fuel, Transport, General Studies and other categories.
- Competition Period: 15.07.17 – 15.01.18
- First Level Quiz will have 10 questions with a time limit of 10 minutes.
- If the child answers 6 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Bronze Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID, and can be downloaded from the portal itself. The second window shall open on qualifying the first level.
- Second Level Quiz will have 15 questions with a time limit of 10 minutes.
- Second Level Quiz will have 15 questions with a me limit of 10 minutes. If the child answers 10 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Silver Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID, and can be downloaded from the portal itself. He/she becomes eligible for Final level.
- Final Level Quiz will have 30 questions with a time limit of 15 minutes.
- Final Level Quiz will have 30 questions with a me limit of 15 minutes. If the child answers 25 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Gold Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID and can be downloaded from the portal itself.
