PCRA  'SAKSHAM' NATIONAL COMPETITION-2018 IN ESSAY, PAINTING AND QUIZ

Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, is committed to make oil conservation a National Movement. As a part of its mandate, various literary and cultural events are conducted for school students. The Essay writing, Painting, and Quiz competitions aim to raise awareness among youth about practical conservation tips for the conservation of Petroleum products in industrial, transport, agriculture and domestic sector, and how to practice such tips in their daily lives. For effective communication, students may choose to present their ideas and messages for conserving petroleum products and reducing emission, in English, Hindi or Regional languages.
In August 2016, under the able guidance of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (I/C), MOP & NG, an all India Essay & Painting competition was conducted by PCRA attracting massive participation. Addressing the objective of inculcating a sense of responsibility in young minds, winners were awarded attractive prizes along with a study tour of Japan, to learn about the advancements and efforts made towards petroleum conservation and energy efficiency in developed countries.
This is a golden opportunity for millions of young, budding students to test their calibre & bag coveted certificates, prizes and an all-expenses paid educational foreign trip to a foreign country.


FOUR COMPETITIONS ARE BEING CONDUCTED BY PCRA

FOR SCHOOLS ONLY

  1.  Essay
  2.  Painting
  3.  Quiz for selecting School team and thereafter District, State and Zonal teams. Zonal teams shall participate in National Finals.

FOR INDIVIDUAL ONLY

Individual Quiz for achieving Bronze, Silver or Gold Level, in which children in prescribed age group can participate.

GUIDING  VEDIOS






ESSAY COMPETITION INSTRUCTIONS:


  • 1. Only those schools in India which are recognized by Central & State Boards, can parficipate.
  • 2. It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the compefifion in school premises in a fair manner. It is requested that all eligible (maximum number of) students take part in this compefifion, as this is in Nafional interest.
  • 3. Schools to conduct Essay compefifions in one or more of the following languages- Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarafi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Maithili, Dogri, Nepali, Bodo and Santhali.
  • 4. Eligibility: Students of classes 7, 8, 9 & 10.
  • 5. One student can parficipate in only one language.
  • 6. Essay should not exceed 700 words.
  • 7. Student must submit essay in his/her own handwrifing.


PAINTING COMPETITION INSTRUCTIONS


  1. 1. Only schools in India recognized by Central & State Boards of India, can parficipate.
  2. 2. It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the compefifion in school premises in a fair manner. It is requested that all eligible (or maximum number of) students take part in this compefifion, as this is in Nafional interest.
  3. 3. Eligibility: Two categories: Students of classes 5, 6 & 7 (Junior) Students of classes 8, 9 & 10 (Senior)
  4. 4. School to conduct compefifions in any one or both the categories.
  5. 5. Use only A3 size art sheet. The work may be executed using pencils, pencil colours, crayons, water colours etc.


SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1. Only schools in India recognized by Central & State Boards of India, can parficipate.
  • 2. This compefifion shall be conducted only online through web portal www.pcracompefifions.org upto State Level, and on ground acfivafion there aher.
  • 3. It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the compefifions in school premises in a fair manner. It is requested that all eligible (maximum number of) students take the online quiz, as it will add to their knowledge and is in Nafional interest.
  • 4. Eligibility: Students of classes 8, 9 & 10.
  • 5. Quesfions shall pertain to Fuel Conservafion, Environment, General Studies etc.
  • 6. The schools shall register the names of all Students against the school ID on the portal www.pcracompefifions.org. All the students can then parficipate as Individuals in First Round. Each student shall be given a fime limit of 10 minutes to a5empt the quiz of 10 quesfions.
  • 7. Sohware will select the two best scoring parficipants, who will form the School team.
  • 8. The School team (two best scoring parficipants) shall then parficipate in the second round or District level round, by logging in the portal, in school premises itself. This round will have 15 quesfions with a fime limit of 10 minutes. The last date for parficipafing at District level is 30th Sept. 2018.
  • 9. The best school team (winner) at District level shall be informed by email by PCRA. This team shall parficipate in third round by logging in the portal, in school premises itself, to compete for becoming State Level Winners. This round will have 30 quesfions with a fime limit of 15 minutes
  • 10. The Window for State level shall open on 5th Oct. 2018. The last date for parficipafing at State level is 15th Oct. 2018.
  • 11. The State Level winners (school team) shall be invited to parficipate in oThine Zonal Rounds to be held at Delhi, for deciding the Zonal Finalists. The date and venue shall be advised by Email to the schools.
  • 12. The Zonal Finalists will be invited to parficipate in the Nafional Finals.
  • 13. PCRAshall bear expenses of travel.
  • 14. The schools shall be informed / infimated about the winners at each level on the web portal itself as well as through emails.
  • 15. Compefifion Period:01.07.2018 to 30.09.18 for online Quiz compefifion upto District level only
